Somerville Youth Soccer is honored to receive a gift of $1,000 from Bain Capital Children’s Charity via The Boston Foundation for the 2025-26 season.  These funds will go directly to providing resources to players throughout the SYS footprint and to help offset equipment and rental costs incurred by the organization during the coming year.

This gift was recommended through the generosity of SYS volunteer coach and Bain Capital employee Alex Borland, who served with the organization once again this past season as a boys’ fifth and sixth grade head coach.

“We are extremely grateful to Coach Alex and to Bain Capital for this generous donation,” SYS President Dominic Lachowicz said.  “This gift will help SYS provide resources for all of our programs and to continue its outreach across the community.  We greatly appreciate the belief of so many in our city and throughout the region in the mission of our organization.”

Bain Capital Children’s Charity was founded to provide financial support to nonprofit organizations that benefit children and young people in unique and valuable ways. Bain Capital employees have the opportunity to nominate causes that are important to them and where they are giving their time, expertise, and resources. Each year more than 100 organizations receive grants to support their general operating needs and impactful programs.
