Somerville Youth Soccer announced today that Boynton Yards has renewed its community partnership with the organization for a third straight year.  Boynton Yards will once again provide resources that enable SYS to continue its long-standing mission of giving any child in the city who wishes to play soccer with the chance to do so, especially those families in underrepresented communities.

As part of this partnership, SYS and Boynton Yards will also collaborate on providing information, promotional materials, and visibility opportunities throughout the year.  Through communication via each organization’s website, social media platforms and publications, this partnership will enhance the missions of both SYS and Boynton Yards, including the promotion of all Boynton Yards activities to both Somerville residents and those traveling to the city to compete against SYS teams during the respective fall and spring seasons of play.

Additionally, SYS is fully committed to collaborating on promotion and sponsorship of specific Boynton Yards events while continuing to engage the community in providing more information about volunteer opportunities.

ABOUT SOMERVILLE YOUTH SOCCER

The Somerville Youth Soccer Association is a volunteer organization founded in the Fall of 1990 by a small group of parents working with the Somerville Recreation Commission. As the largest youth sports organization in the city of Somerville, SYS provides the chance for youth ages 2-18 to participate in playing opportunities in three different programs:  Tykes (ages 2-3), In-Town (Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade) and Travel (grades 3-12). In the spring of 2023, SYS had a record 1,341 registrants in the programs listed above.  Last year, 1-in-4 students in Somerville Public Schools were members of SYS.

SYS works tirelessly to provide any child who wishes to play in our programs with the opportunity to do so.  Our mission is to serve the youth of our city and represent a diverse community that includes families who speak four different languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole).  Through the generosity of our sponsors and partners across the city landscape, we weave a love for the game with a passion for our community.

Somerville Youth Soccer anunció hoy que Boynton Yards ha renovado su asociación comunitaria con la organización por tercer año consecutivo.  Boynton Yards una vez más proporcionará recursos que permitirán a SYS continuar con su misión de larga data de brindar a cualquier niño de la ciudad que desee jugar fútbol con la oportunidad de hacerlo, especialmente aquellas familias en comunidades subrepresentadas.
