Lynx Enjoy Great Night With G56 Red & Black Teams At Conway Field

Members of the Lesley University women’s soccer team visited Conway Field on Wednesday, September 27th for a fun-filled evening of drills, skills, and camaraderie with Somerville Youth Soccer’s G56 Red and G56 Black teams during midweek practice.

G56 Red Head Coach Scott Benjamin, who also serves as the Director of SYS’s popular Won World Soccer Camp and was the longtime Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Bunker Hill Community College, worked with longtime Lesley Head Coach Paul Vasconcelos to arrange the visit to practice.  The players from both Somerville teams interacted through the session with the Lynx team members, who ran through drills and scrimmaged with the girls.

“Everyone had a great time,” Benjamin said of the visit.  “I can’t thank Paul enough for having his players come over and work with our teams.  It provided everyone with a night of both fun and learning, and we’re very grateful to all of the Lesley players such tremendous role models for our kids.”

Lesley stands at 5-3 on the season and is a perfect 3-0 in North Atlantic Conference play, and the Lynx next play at home on Tuesday, October 3rd against Bridgewater State at Minuteman High School in Lexington.  Game time is set for 8:00 pm.
