In recognition of the remarkable work by Somerville Youth Soccer volunteers this summer and fall, SYS is designating Saturday, November 14 as Coach Appreciation Day.

Without coaches there is no Somerville Youth Soccer. And we have some truly excellent coaches in our organization.

Coaching can be challenging at times even under the best circumstances. Coaching during a pandemic with all the COVID protocols and new modifications to the game is challenging on an entirely new level.

So please take the time to express appreciation for your coaches giving up all those evenings and weekends to make soccer happen for your player. Whether it's a heartfelt thank-you from a parent, a card or drawing from a player, or a team gift, these expressions of gratitude help remind coaches how much their work means to everyone.
