If your child plans on playing Travel soccer (Grade 3+) with Somerville Youth Soccer League in Fall 2019, they MUST attend their designated Player Placement Evaluation in June.

Here is the Player Placement Evaluation schedule, by RISING GRADE FOR FALL 2019:

Boys Grade 3: Saturday, June 15 3:30 PM - 5 PM @ Capuano Field
Girls Grade 3: Saturday, June 15 2 PM - 3:30 PM @ Capuano Field
Boys Grade 4: Saturday, June 15 5 PM - 6:30 PM @ Capuano Field
Girls Grade 4: Saturday, June 15 12:30 PM - 2 PM @ Capuano Field
Boys Grade 5/6: Saturday, June 15 8:30 AM - 10 AM @ Dilboy Stadium
Girls Grade 5/6: Tuesday, June 11 6 PM - 7:30 PM @ Dilboy Stadium
Boys Grade 7/8: Saturday, June 15 10 AM - 11:30 AM @ Dilboy Stadium
Girls Grade 7/8: Tuesday, June 11 7:30 PM - 9 PM @ Dilboy Stadium

For maximum objectivity, Player Placement Evaluations will be conducted by external coaches from Challenger Sports. These Challenger coaches will lead participants through a series of activities designed to evaluate their skill level in a number of areas. This data will be used as part of our player evaluation data during the process of forming Travel team rosters for the Fall 2019 season.

Along with Coach Evaluations and In-Game Evaluations, Player Placement Evaluations provide another data set. And for players joining our league for the first time or who didn't play in the spring, Player Placement Evaluations can be a crucial data point to shed some light on the player's skill level and avoid a scenario where the player is rostered blindly.
