One of the essential functions of coaches and team managers is to manage team communications with players and their families. If you are a coach or team manager, SportsEngine has created a Team Management Guide for Coaches and Team Managers to help you use our website and mobile app to efficiently and effectively communicate and manage your teams.
While club soccer can be a great option for kids to get expert coaching and additional experience, the high price tag is too much for many families. Mass Youth Soccer's Town Select League (TSL) is a great alternative to traditional clubs, and our league and our players have benefited hugely from playing with TSL.
SYSL highly recommends TSL as a complement to SYSL Travel teams. Our league makes an effort to schedule the evening practices of our top teams in a way so as to avoid conflicts with TSL practices. And compared to clubs charging $3,000 or $4,000 a year, TSL costs a relatively modest $700 for the year, with financial aid available.
Players born between 2005 and 2011 are eligible. TSL teams practice one weeknight per week in neighboring Medford and play games every other Sunday at locations within an hour's drive of Somerville.
If you think your child shows promise on the pitch and could benefit from additional soccer experience against good competition and great coaching, please look into this great program.
